Someone is diagnosed with dementia every three seconds and unless a cure is found, one in three people will die with dementia. While new drugs are being developed to slow or prevent dementia, today, there is no cure.
Race Against Dementia (RAD) was created by Sir Jackie Stewart OBE – winner of three Formula 1 World Championships – after his wife Helen was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia.
We identify, fund and guide pioneering scientists from across the world. We work to achieve better diagnoses, understand risks, develop treatments and find a cure for dementia – faster.
We use a Formula 1 mindset to disrupt current practices – sharing technologies and forging new collaborations across disciplines, institutions, and industries.

Our partners include Formula 1, Randox and The James Dyson Foundation and in this time of growth for the charity, we are looking for someone to join us to expand and accelerate our income generation amongst businesses, Trusts and Foundations.
The Trust and Corporate Fundraising Manager will be responsible for implementing a successful programme of fundraising from the corporate sector and researching, identifying, and applying to Trusts and Foundations to secure essential funding.
Salary range: £35,573 – £40,316 (dependent on experience).
The Research Grants Officer will be responsible for the co-ordination of the Race Against Dementia (RAD) Fellowship Programme, which will include helping to identify, select and support the world’s most promising scientific talent.
Salary range: £25,530 – £30,000 (dependent on experience).
