On 2 April 2025, in the lead-up to the Japanese Grand Prix, Hersey Shiga Media hosted an exclusive Race Against Dementia luncheon and auction at the Grand Hyatt Tokyo, raising over 10 million yen to drive forward vital dementia research.
Inspiring voices and notable guests
The event welcomed Mark Stewart, Race Against Dementia’s Chairman of Trustees, as Guest of Honor. Mark delivered a heartfelt speech about his mother’s battle with dementia, highlighting the urgency of our mission.

A host of distinguished guests joined the event, including Lady Dewi Sukarno, internet entrepreneur and passionate Formula 1 fan Horie-san, Bradley Lord, Communications Director of Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 and Alpine F1 reserve driver Ryo Hirakawa.
Exclusive auction and raffle
Following the luncheon, guests participated in a high-profile charity auction, raising crucial funds for pioneering dementia research. Exceptional prizes included:
- A Ferrari cap signed by Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton.
- Race-worn gloves signed and donated by Kimi Räikkönen.
- A nine-day luxury cruise, generously donated by Japanese Grand Prix title sponsor MSC Cruises.
- Two VIP Paddock Passes with exclusive access to the McLaren and Racing Bulls garages, plus a meet-and-greet with Isack Hadjar.
