Sir Jackie Stewart OBE

Opening a JustGiving page is a great way to easily receive donations from friends, family and colleagues for your incredible fundraising. Once your page is set-up, your fundraising comes direct to Race Against Dementia, making it a super simple way to reach your fundraising target!

But how can you make the most of your JustGiving page and help it boost your fundraising even more? Read our top tips below!

Create and customise your page

You can easily get started with your fundraising by setting up your Race Against Dementia JustGiving page here. Set a catchy title and make sure to describe what you’re doing to draw people in.

If you feel comfortable to, take some time to add a personal story about why Race Against Dementia matters to you—sharing your journey can really resonate with your friends, family and colleagues.

Don’t forget to include photos! Whether you tracked a personal best on Strava or squeezed in a morning run before work, share a screenshot or a sweaty selfie. Pages with images tend to raise 14% more donations!

The more you personalise your page, the more likely it is to inspire others to donate and support your fundraising!

Decide on a Fundraising Target

Be bold and set some exciting goals for your fundraising efforts—let everyone know what you’re aiming for!

When you share a specific target, it creates a buzz that can really inspire your friends and supporters. In fact, fundraising pages with clear goals tend to raise an amazing 46% more than those without one! This not only motivates people to chip in but also helps them feel like they’re part of something special. So go ahead, aim high, and invite your community to join you in making a real difference!

JustGiving is an excellent platform to use, as it automatically includes Gift Aid (if eligible) for your supporters when they donate—this can significantly boost your fundraising by an impressive 25%!

Kick things off!

Kick things off by making a personal donation to your own campaign. Believe it or not, people who do this often raise an impressive 42% more than those who don’t! By putting your own donation onto your page, you show just how much you care about the cause, and it encourages others to join in.

It’s a simple way to inspire your friends and family to support you, creating a positive vibe and helping your fundraising efforts thrive. So go ahead, take that first step, and watch the momentum build!

Share your page!

Your page is up and running with your photo and story as well as it’s first donation (from you!) – now is the time to share with friends and family! Make sure to regularly share your page across your fundraising. You can also create a handy QR code to link directly to your page.

Personalise your Thank You!

Make your thank you message truly special by personalising it to be more meaningful. This personalised message will be included in the email receipt JustGiving send to your donors, making it an excellent opportunity to express your heartfelt thanks. A little appreciation can go a long way – the connections you build today could encourage them to donate again in the future!
