We are launching a call for Fellowships in Switzerland in collaboration with Dementia Research Switzerland – Synapsis Foundation. Together, we will select and fund the brightest early-career researcher based in a Swiss research institution to join our global network of researchers.
Sir Jackie and Helen have lived much of their lives in Switzerland, having settled in the canton of Vaud since 1969, and raised their two sons there. It is a country close to their hearts and important to them to support the strong science and dementia community in the country.
Race Against Dementia partners with leading dementia research charities to back research Fellows from the UK, Australia, South Africa, Europe and the USA. The charity currently has Fellowship calls with Alzheimer’s Research UK and Dementia Research Australia.
Dementia Research Switzerland – Synapsis Foundation, is a non-profit foundation focused on advancing the understanding of neurodegenerative diseases. Over the past 21 years, it has funded over 130 research projects at Swiss research institutions supported by private and institutional donors. These projects aim to uncover dementia’s underlying mechanisms and develop innovative diagnostic and treatment methods. The Foundation is committed to nurturing the careers of young researchers, whose ideas drive future innovation in the field.
Dementia is a global challenge. Race Against Dementia has developed an international network of researchers to tackle dementia on a global scale. All researchers who join this collaborative network receive expert mentoring and training in Formula 1-inspired training to fast-track dementia research and become leaders in their fields.
