The Race Against Dementia Drug Discovery to Clinical Trial Project

Race Against Dementia is delighted to announce its funding of the RAD Discovery Hub.  The first spoke is The Race Against Dementia Drug Discovery to Clinical Trial Project - which is a joint research partnership between the University of Edinburgh and the Alzheimer Center, Amsterdam (the “Project”).  The aim of the Project is to accelerate the discovery of new treatments for dementia and to test drug compounds against models of dementia, with a view to tracking promising targets towards clinical trials.

As a charity that provides grants both to early career researchers and to innovative and collaborative projects, RAD is thrilled to support what we hope will be the first of many ventures which bring together global centres of excellence to accelerate finding a prevention or cure for dementia.

RAD would like to welcome Dr Jort Vijverberg of Amsterdam and Dr Suvanker Pal and Dr Bhuvaneish T Selvaraj of Edinburgh who will be working on the Project, and who join us as RAD Associates benefitting from the full RAD Leadership Development Programme alongside our RAD Fellows.

You can hear more on the Project from Prof Scheltens and Prof Chandran from RADs Conference in 2021. The full conference is below with The Race Against Dementia Drug Discovery to Clinical Trial Project being presented from 50 minutes onwards.
