Edinburgh to host an exclusive screening of new Sir Jackie Stewart documentary charting his incredible career

Posted on the 12th May 2022

The Sir Jackie Stewart Classic, presented by Rolex, is working in partnership with Race Against Dementia, Thirlestane Castle and Mark Stewart Productions to bring you a very special event.

On 15th June 2022 5pm to 9.30pm, the Sir Jackie Stewart Classic, presented by Rolex, will host an exclusive preview screening of STEWART, a soon-to-be-released feature documentary film, at the newly opened Everyman Cinema within St James Quarter, Edinburgh.

Using immaculately restored and previously unseen archive footage, STEWART charts the rush of excitement that heralded Sir Jackie’s first F1 World Championship title in 1969, his humble beginnings outside Glasgow, and the darker years of the early 1970s when he fought to improve racing safety. STEWART is an immersive, colourful and powerfully emotive film, transcending motor sport to explore universal themes of love, loss and human vulnerability.

Sir Jackie Stewart OBE will attend the preview with a host of well-known faces and celebrities from the motoring world. The event will raise funds for Race Against Dementia, the global charity founded by Sir Jackie Stewart OBE, to fund pioneering research into the prevention and cure of dementia. Event profits will go straight to the charity.

Following the red carpet arrival, guests will hear in person from the film’s executive producer, Mark Stewart, who will tell us about some of the challenges involved in producing the film. We will also hear from the man himself, Sir Jackie Stewart, who will share some stories and personal insights into his racing career, his life and his family.

This really is a unique opportunity to meet a racing legend.

There are a limited number of tickets available to purchase to attend this very special event.

We do hope you can join us.
