WMRAC to support RAD for another year

Posted on the 2nd March 2019

The WMRAC (Women’s Motor Racing Associates Club, aka The Doghouse Owners’ Club) have chosen to continue to make Race Against Dementia their charity for a second year.

Today, following at their Annual General Meeting, Elizabeth Walkinshaw, Chair, presented Paul Stewart (RAD Ambassador) and Penny Moyle (RAD Executive Advisor) with a cheque for £5000, and a promise of more to come in 2019.  Paul and Penny addressed the group to let them know why Race Against Dementia was founded and the progress we are making to accelerate results  in dementia research through collaboration between Formula 1 and medical researchers.

The WMRAC was formed by a group of Grand Prix Drivers’ wives and girlfriends in the 1960s.  It promotes Friendship, Support and Fundraising in Motorsport.  Over the years it is estimated to have raised over £2 million for a large range of charities.
